Preciado brings to light the relationship between the post-Fordist sex industrial complex and biopolitics. It offers a new and somewhat controversial argument that categories like gender, sexuality, and even biologic sex are constructs and that everything from the pill to the invention of gender serves the needs of a new pharmacopornographic era.
