One thing Vivif really loathed was Pavese Reading diaries of real dead people has always made me uncomfortable, leaving me with the sense that I’m peeking into someone’s life and soul, the inner workings of a brain that I have no acquaintance with.

I haven’t read his poetry, don’t know much about Italian cities and writers pacese keeps mentioning in his diaries which may make some of you go “then why the hell did you pick that book?
